Despite the weather and the mud there
were several noteworthy battles in the racing and all racers
showed true grit and determination.
First out were the Seniors, kicking
off with Kieran Clarke, Lewis Dowsett and John Eaton battling
hard, and that was the order they took the flag in the first race.
In the second race, unfortunately Lewis came off which then meant
Kieran had his first ever overall. Well done to Aidan Folan for
his best result ever.
The first AMX race saw Piers
Skinner get the holeshot and the win, closely followed by Wild Man
Paul Willis and Dave Capper. The second Moto saw Aaron Jenner take
the holeshot and the win, closely followed again by Wild Man
Willis and Joe Cundle. So proving that the best way of keeping
clean in mud is staying at the front!
Daniel Guy in the BW85 Race, raced
his heart out, battling with Joe Russell and Dan Packman in the
first moto. Second race saw some good battles between Jack Norman,
Dan Guy and Joe Russell. In the second Moto they all raced hard
but the result was Jack Norman in first place, Dan Guy in second
and Joe Russell coming in third.
In the SW85 races there was yet
more drama as Louis Close and Aaron Ongley battled it out. Honours
went to Louis in the first race and to Aaron in the second, giving
him the overall. Steady riding in difficult conditions gave Frank
Marchant a well-earned third spot on the podium.
Last out were the Juniors, Tom
Lockhart made it look so incredibly easy with two strong wins. In
the second moto he lapped nearly every other rider!! Gary Ashley,
Bradley Smith and Lewis Cloud battled hard to reach first
place, but could only watch the mud that Tom kicked up!
We would like to say a really big
thanks to the Medics, Marshals, Committee and the Lapscorers for
standing out in the rain for two blocks of racing - without you
guys the racing could never have happened. Hopefully it will be
drier at Mepal on the 28th March!!
