Marshalling for the rest of 2012
A committee meeting has been held and the following format for marshals has been agreed. This will start from our next meeting on 12th February at Newnham.
Basically it’s a win/win situation! We are very aware that extra costs for some members are very restrictive but also that other members like to spend the day watching their riders and socialising. To this end we have tried to strike a happy medium that will appeal to everyone.
Those that want to marshal will be paid £15 per session (am or pm) or £30 for the entire day. So basically you carry on as all the previous years, but now you get paid!
Those that don’t want to marshal or book in too late to get a paid marshalling job, will pay £10 for the first rider and £5 in total for all extra riders (£15 maximum, however many riders on your family membership).
So there you are: if you don’t want to marshal it will cost you only £10 or £15, depending on the number of riders. If you do want to marshal, you get paid £15 per session. As we said – win/win!!
If you want to marshal - you MUST let Jane Dennis know on Facebook or by text (07516 705370 before 10pm) NO LATER than the Tuesday evening before a meeting. Any later and you will HAVE to pay, as we will be using an Explorer Scout Troop for the rest of the marshal points and we have to give them sufficient notice.
All Start Gate team (2), Lapscorers (2), Pegs (1) and Timekeeper (1) will also be paid the same rate £15 per session. ALL start gate team members, whether am or pm, will be required to help put the gate away at the end of racing. There will be 5 of you so it won’t take long at all.
Transponders

We will be using them officially from the 1st summer round and you will then either have to have your own or hire for £7.50.

Membership and Licence Forms
All forms have now been sent out by 2nd class post so please be patient. When they arrive can you please read through the membership form and alter the two references to the BSMA to MCF. Both forms should be returned to Sarah and all cheques or postal orders should be made payable to EKSSC. And please remember that ALL licence forms must have a passport size photo and ALL under-18's must send a copy birth certificate or driving licence or passport id page. If people can get to me in Orpington, I can do the photos for free.
Any rider who has held an MCF photo licence in the last two years can renew online or send in the paperwork to Sarah without the need for a photo or date of birth ID. Any that the MCF receive where they put East Kent as their club they will notify the club.
If anyone has any membership queries or if they have not received their forms, can they please ring Sarah on 07768 618718 after 7pm. Forms need to be completed and back in Sarah's possession before your next race on 22nd January.

MCF Licences
Rookies = Seniors - 14-17,
Rookies/Adult = Seniors and AMX (15 years and over only),
Adult Junior = slow AMX or Open (15 years and up),
Adult Expert = fast AMX or Open (15 years and up) but it makes no difference as we don't run an expert group so just tick one!!
15 year olds are limited to 250 2 stroke or 450 4 stroke in the Open group and the usual 125 2 stroke and 2504 4 stroke in the AMX - nothing larger!!

Prices for 2012
Club Membership: £45 per family, including 1 rider, £10 per extra rider.
MCF Licence: Schoolboys £25, Adults £30
Racing Fees: £25 Autos, £30 Schoolboys, £35 Adults - plus whatever is decided to cover the marshalling costs
Any members doing the BSMA GT Cup and thus being forced to join a BSMA club, can have their East Kent membership for free upon proof of registration prior to 4/12/11. The MCF will also refund half the licence fee with the same proof.
Day licences: £5, no day membership charge.

Transponders will be used full time from the 1st round of the summer championship on February 26th. Visitors will be able to hire transponders at £7.50 a meeting. Should any club members be thinking of doing this, please be aware that it is far cheaper to buy outright or get a subscription. Remember we ran 28 meetings last year!! And we will only have a few available. No transponder, no scoring!

Fire Extinguishers are an important requirement for obvious safety reasons. At all future meetings, we will be checking that all vans carry an up to date fire extinguisher. Please co-operate with this very important safety rule.
